DUBAI: Parkonic, the UAE’s leading smart parking solutions provider, and Salik Company PJSC, Dubai’s exclusive toll gate operator, have announced a strategic partnership with Dubai Holding to launch the region’s first fully autonomous, AI-powered parking solution.

This landmark initiative will cover more than 36,000 parking spaces across some of Dubai’s most iconic communities.

The rollout aligns with the objectives of Dubai’s Smart City 2030 and Future Mobility Vision, offering a ticketless, barrier-free parking system that requires no manual inspection. Enabled by Salik’s payment capabilities and powered by Parkonic’s proprietary AI and software platforms, the innovation ensures a frictionless and entirely contactless user experience.

How will it work?

The new system allows for instant, cashless, and automatic payments, eliminating the need for physical tickets or gates. By integrating Parkonic’s advanced technology with Salik’s seamless payment infrastructure, the parking solution supports ease of movement while also preventing fines typically caused by overstays.

Residents and visitors within these communities will benefit from enhanced accessibility, reduced congestion, and improved efficiency. The integration serves as a significant leap toward creating a connected and intelligent mobility infrastructure in the emirate.

What’s the wider goal?

This collaboration not only enhances convenience but also directly supports Dubai’s Net Zero strategy by reducing emissions through smarter traffic and parking management. The initiative marks a foundational step in preparing the city for future technologies, including autonomous vehicles and AI-powered mobility services.

Imad Alameddine, CEO of Parkonic, commented: “This partnership is a milestone for urban mobility in Dubai. Together with Salik and Dubai Holding, we’re building a future where parking is seamless, intelligent, and user-centric.”

Developed and operated within the UAE, the multilingual system represents the latest benchmark in urban design. Automatic billing, no manual interaction, and a user-first experience set a new standard for regional smart mobility.

Salik, which listed on the Dubai Financial Market in 2022, operates under a 49-year concession agreement with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority. It manages all toll gates on major roads, including Sheikh Zayed Road, and now takes another bold step in future-ready transport solutions.
